My Month in Pictures - September

1) Went out with the girls while all the boys were away in a stag do in Marbella. You know the saying.... "when the boys are away...the girls come out to play" ;)
2) I got an unexpected and very nice rebate from the tax man! (things like this never happen to me)
3) I smashed my poor phone to smithereens and have been having a nightmare trying to get it sorted. Am temporarily on an old Blackberry hence the lack of posts
4) I went to a Kisstory night at Indigo club at The O2
5) I went to bingo for the first time with the girls from work - I won! Twice!!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

The other week in Boots i couldnt resist picking up both foundation and powder from the Rimmel Stay Matte range - you can read my powder review here
The matte look is definitely one i try to achieve whenever doing my makeup. I easily end up with a slightly oily/greasy t-zone so always lean towards products to mattify rather than ones to leave me looking dewy with a glow ;)
Having heard good things about Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation i happily picked it up & trotted off to the till. I already knew the tube was rather on the small side being only 30ml but ive heard a little goes a long way so i didnt let this put me off. I do like to try out new foundations on the market but always find myself coming back to my trusty MAC Studio Fix Fluid and am yet to find a suitable, cheaper alternative.

Rimmel claim Stay Matte is "a feather light liquid mousse that blends flawlessly for natural looking, all-day shine control" all of which sounds pretty good to me!!
When swatched i think a cross between liquid and mousse is a bit misleading. This foundation comes out of the tube very thick, but i think thats a good thing. If it was more of a liquid consistency it would be just the same as a million other foundations on the market at the moment.
I was a little bit worried that being a mattifying foundation is would highlight dry patches on my cheeks which i sometimes get and are heightened by fake tan on occasion. It definitely didnt at all. My face was 100% matte effect all day with no need for topups or any additional primer/powder like ive seen other reviewers suggesting is a must. Obviously primer and powder isnt going to hurt the longevity of the foundation but i think it does a pretty good job on its own.
A teeny pea sized blob of foundation really does go so far and definitely covers my whole face..and i like super full coverage. It applies really smoothly and i found it easy to blend.

1) Swatched, very thick almost toothpaste-like consistency
2) Swatch blended slightly
3) Swatch fully blended
I was really really impressed with this foundation and think for £5.99 it will definitely become a popular member of my makeup collection...especially when funds are low and im holding out until payday for more MAC Studio Fix! This is definitely an almost-as-good alternative, and for the price you definitely can't go wrong!!
What do you think of the Rimmel Stay Matte collection? Have you tried any of the Stay Blushed products?

GlossyBox - September

This months Glossy box was "The London Edition" and is theme around London Fashion Week i assume. Being very proud to be British and loving my country this is a theme i was thrilled to see!
The outer packaging of the box is totally gorgeous and eye grabbing as you can see and the tissue paper inside had cute little "British" things all over it like Big Ben and umbrellas! ha! (you've got to laugh right!)
This month Glossybox have introduced their new magazine, named the GB mag and have got rid of the little folded piece of paper altogether. A look that i much prefer!
To be honest i've taken a while to right up this post because i just wasn't sure what i thought of this months box. I think one of the bad things about being a beauty blogger is the typical want what i don't have jealousy. I have the ability to read previous posts reviewing Glossy Box's before mine has even arrived so i definitely know what to expect and the possibilities of what i might receive - which definitely ruins the surprise element but i just can't stop myself!! However this means i get pretty upset when i know other Glossy Box subscribers receive much nicer, more expensive items and leaves me feeling a little hard done by.....the feeling this month!!
Sooo this month I received:
Eyelure Pre-Glued Lashes
Full review to follow
Size: Full Size
Product: False eyelashes that already have glue applied so you simple peel & stick, no possibility of mess.
Price: £5.06 (for 1 pair)
Would i buy it? Yes
Elizabeth Arden Untold
So yet again I received a perfume sample in my GlossyBox despite definitely chosing to opt out of this on my favourites online. It's not that i don't like to try new perfumes, i just begrudge one of my precious Glossy items being wasted on something as small as a perfume sample.
Size: This sample is 5ml which is much better than the 1.5ml i received last month. Rather than a small vial of fragrance this sample is actually a teeny version of the actual bottle that the full size perfume comes in which i think is a nice touch.
Product: This is described as "a luxurious and modern floral fragrance with fruity introduction" but i would definitely disagree. I can't stand floral perfumes and this does not smell flowery to me at all. It really is delicious, smells very fruity and most importantly lingers around for a really long time.
Price: Untold retails at £48 for 50ml or £69 for 100ml. This makes my sample worth £4.80
Would i buy it? YES
Toni & Guy Classic Shine & Gloss Serum
To be honest i don't tend to use hair serum very often. I have very thick hair so it doesn't tend to get too fly-away or need taming as it's very heavy to begin with. After straightening i sometimes to serum for a completely sleek effect but this is rare. This Toni & Guy serum is part of the Limited Edition HairMeetWardrobe range and is designed by Lulu Kennedy. I think it's very attractive and makes a welcome change from the standard Red & Silver.
Size: Full size 30ml
Product: I love the feel of this serum, it's lightweight, i don't feel a lot of product buildup in my hair like i do with some other products and it truly kept my hair in place for hours. But again this isnt really something i struggle with daily.
Price: £7.19
Would i buy it? Probably not because i wouldn't use it that much. If i did want to purchase a serum i would definitely consider this one.
Be A Bombshell Cosmetics EyeLiner in Oynx
I was really excited when i saw this product in my box this month. I have been wanting to try a felt tip style liquid eyeliner for a while but never know which one to go for. It was also really nice to get a product in a usefull colour like black rather than some rather obscure reds like last month! haha
Size: Full size 3g
Product: To be honest on first impressions i have been disappointed with this eyeliner. It initially looks quite pigmented when swatched but i can't get it to come out a true black on my eyes. I end up with a more grey-ish stain that has to be gone over 100x. Not ideal. I am going to persevere as im new to pen style eyeliners but it's not winning me over yet.
Price: $14 (approx. £8.66)
Would i buy it? Not at the moment, i think i could get a cheaper drug store alternative.

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips
Now i was initially excited to try this because everybody raves about it and i was eager to see if it lived up to the hype BUT a) it arrived and was a ridiculously tiny sample size and more importantly b) i discovered before my box even arrived that other people received either a full size HD Brow Bronze (all £19 of it!) or a Rimmel Stay Blushed product instead of this....both of which i would have preferred. I just don' think its fair to give one subscriber a product worth £2 (okay £2.20 to be precise!) and another one worth £19. I definitely think each box should be equal in value, even if that means some include a different number of products....eeurrggh rant over! but i can understand why people are being put off Glossy Box for sure.

Size: A piddly 3ml which is a very very small tube. Granted a little goes a long way and it will last a while but still....

Product: I am really impressed with Nipple Balm. The name (got to be honest) does put me off slightly but it really is a thick, luxurious, balm for the lips that leaves them feeling baby baby soft and i can definitely still feel the product hours after application.

Price: £11.50 for 15ml so my sample works out as £2.20

Would i buy it? No i don't think so. I do like it but it's a little out of my price range for lip balm when Carmex does nearly as good a job.

So lovely ladies that concludes this months Glossy Box! Hope you enjoyed my thoughts. Did any of you order this months box? With the HD Brow product included i think this could have been such a good box!!

The Versatile Blogger Award

Hi dolls, the lovely Amna over at Let Amna Tell You has nominated me for the Versatile Blogger award which i am thrilled by as i guess it means some people out there are loving my blog! Thanks so much hunny :)
The Rules of the Versatile Blogger award are:
1) Display the award on your blog
2) Link back to the blogger who nominated you
3) Present 15 deserving bloggers with the award
4) Link your nominees in the post and notify them
5) Post 7 interesting things about yourself
Sooo 7 interesting things about me? Well you can decide whether or not they are interesting but here we go:
1) I am a gemini which supposedly means i have a split personality (so my boyfriend tells me anyway! haha)
2) I have always always as long as i can remember wanted a convertible car and finally got one in June - my roof has been down ever since & i am dreading winter because of this
3) Copying Amna a little here but totally feel the same....i love my heels. The higher the better & i often wear 6+inchers out with the girls, not so much with my boyfriend because then i end up taller than him which i cannot stand!!
4) Even though i am naturally ginger and have pale skin i always go for medium tones in makeup so that i match when i am fake tanned (which is always)
5) One day i will own an orange & white King Charles Spaniel puppy and call her Minnie
6) Every year when watching i get inspired to run the London marathon...maybe 2014 is my year?
7) One of my feet is size 4&half and one is a 5 which is incredibly annoying. One foot is always sliding around in shoes too big or squished in shoes too small! hehe
Blogs I am nominating:
Enjoy girls

.....because I'm a twentysomething

So this morning while feel particular reflectful a friend pointed me in the direction of this amazing post by Today Was Meaningful which i just had to re-blog because it is so appropriate for the stage of my life i am in at the moment.
I turned 25 in June and definitely felt the quarter-life crisis taking hold. While everyone older than me can't understand what i worry about and tell me "you're still so young!" im a strong believer that unless you are in somebody else's shoes you never really can understand.
Out of my core group of about 15 girlfriends only me & 2 others haven't had kids yet (my best friends have two!). Granted some are older than me, some had them very young, some weren't planned but it doesn't change the fact that you start to question your own life and choices.
Me & my boyfriend have been together since i was very young. It will be our 10 year anniversary next May (all very exciting!) and we're definitely hoping kids will be a part of our future in the next couple of years. I've always wanted kids in my twenties and definitely feel ready it but sadly it comes down to finances and not being able to afford to take maternity leave as i earn more than my boyfriend so rightly or wrongly i often find myself jealous & wanting the life choices that my friends have been able to make already....a very complex & confusing situation....anyway here goes.......
when i was thirteen, i couldn’t wait to be eighteen. i thought i’d know it all by then- have all the answers and that prized freedom. and when i was sixteen, i planned to be married by age twenty-three with two kids. i’ll always smile to myself when i think about how time changes things. and when i turned twenty four i made a list of as many goals as i had in years. by my 25th birthday, i’d accomplished them all.
and a funny thing happens about the time you turn twenty.five. people start asking about marriage and kids and houses. and you begin to worry about savings, retirement, and health insurance. you start spending your money on tires. short term sacrifices for long term gains, right? and sometimes you start to compare your 25 years with everyone else’s. you wonder if you’re on the right track because it’s different from all the people you’re surrounded by. you start going to your friends’ weddings and buying baby gifts for second birthdays. and suddenly you realize you’re at the exact age that seemed so far away just five years ago.
i’ve always liked including myself in the 20.something. category. growing up, but not quite grown up. you’re an adult, but still recognize that you’re part kid. i’ve enjoyed the navigating of adulthood and all of my new first time experiences. a new job. my first ‘grown-up’ paycheck. growth. being old enough to rent a car. but it seems like the older i’ve gotten, the more aware i’ve become of my short-lived stay in the ‘twenties’ and the pressure to fit the mold of all of the rest of the twentyfivers.
i’ve started to think about how easy it is to become controlled by our age. and the expectation of what your age signifies to everyone else. how old you should be by the time you your first house. get married. have kids. start your retirement. suddenly it seems like there are all these benchmarks to meet, even when they don’t match the goals you are trying to reach.
forget molds.
because as easy it is to forget, you’re free to do what you want with your life. the problem is, that can be quite the responsibility, to live your life the way you want to, rather than they way you are expected to. especially if that means taking a big jump. and especially when that jump may feel like a free fall. maybe quit your first job and go back to school if that feels right. get married or don’t. maybe you drop out of school or chop off your hair. maybe you change your mind. end a relationship that no longer serves you. become a different person.maybe you move away or move back home. or maybe you’re scared to do these things because it’s uncomfortable and unexpected. maybe it’s because you don’t know if everything would fall into place or you’re scared what that would mean if it did.
and when you’re in your twenties, i hope you buy a plane ticket to paris. i hope you get lost wandering all of the streets. i hope you travel the world and read lots of new books. i hope you have interesting conversations over warm cups of tea. i hope you drink out of mason jars while dancing barefoot in the grass. i hope you have a water fight in central park. set goals and change them. quit your day job. i hope you don’t do any of these things or that you do them all. write a book. change your mind. start new friendships and let go of the ones that you need to. say goodbye to all of the things that have kept you stagnant and vow to keep moving forward.

i hope your fifties mean going back to school or starting yoga. i hope your forties include falling in love with someone new- a friend, child, or partner. i hope you stay up all night laughing with your friends. and when you’re thirty, learn something new. i hope your life is one of wisdom and youth, adventure and old age- no matter what year it was that you were born.
but what i really mean to say is that I hope you aren’t held back because of a number. and that you don’t rush into things because it feels like time is slipping by. i hope you do what’s right for you. hold on. slow down. and breathe in. your age is your age. but more importantly, your life is your life. don’t change your journey so that it matches someone elses. we need to walk different paths so the whole world can be explored. revel in the differences. and enjoy where you are.
here. right here.

EOS Lip Balm

Last week after seeing yet another celebrity raving about their EOS Lip Balm (Kylie Jenner to be precise!) i decided i couldnt go any longer without some of these in my life...
EOS Lip Balms hit the beauty scene in America pretty hard a couple of years ago. Over in the states now you can't avoid them, they are everywhere!
EOS lip balms are unique in that they are 100% natural.
95% Organic
All lips balms contain Vitamin E, Shea Butter & Jojoba Oil to keep lips sensationally smooth.

I purchased a cute limited edition two pack of Strawberry Shortcake & Passionfruit, two flavours that even from the names i knew i would love. Even though each lip balm goes on clear they taste and smell exactly as their name would suggest. Delicious! Seriously cannot get enough of these two flavours, need to refrain from licking my lips all the time because im beginning to look like a bit of a weirdo! haha

What mostly attracts me to the EOS Lip Balms is the packaging. I think each lip balm is just adorable in its cute little sphere and really eye-catching. The number of people asking me what they are already and i've only been using them a few days. All lip balms are 0.25oz in size so the little sphere is probably the size of a golf ball...perfect for on the go and popping in your handbag and they have a clever screw top so no balm gets wasted on the inside of your pocket or bag.

These lip balms really do do what they say on the tin. After applying my lips are amazingly smooth and i can still feel like product after a good few hours so don't feel like i need to reapply all the time

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balms also come in Pomegranate Raspberry, Blueberry Acai, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine and Lemon Drop (with spf15) and you can find out more about them here

Have you try any of the collection?

Free Body Shop hand cream...

Hi Dolls,
Just a quick post this morning, i had to let you know about this great deal that are doing.

These hand creams normally retail at £5 so are well worth the effort of getting hold of a voucher
You can find the free hand cream voucher online here It can be used until the 29th but is only going to be available for printing until Thursday (26th)

Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Tan Lotion

Ive always been a huge Palmers fan and absolutely love their body butter products and have been using them for years! ive even got my boyfriend hooked on their good old cocoa butter.
Cocoa butter is without a doubt one of my favourite scents when looking for new products and definitely one i am always drawn too.
I am also a serial fake tanner!! Being a natural redhead (but my hair has darkened somewhat over the years) i obviously have your typical ginger skin - annoyingly freckly and pale. There is nothing i love more than laying out in the sun for 2 weeks solid, somewhere exotic and hot on our summer holidays trying to tan, but i really do just have to accept that even though i love the DEFINITELY does not love me back!! *sniffsniff*.
There probably arent many brands of fake tan i havent tried and tested over the years and i do 100% have my favourites (Fake Bake & Laurens Way i'm looking at you!!) but every now and then i like to mix it up a bit.
Image: Superdrug
I've got to be honest gradual tanners arent a product i am usually a fan of. I definitely started out with them at the beginning of my tanning experience (to ease myself in gently...or so i thought at the time!) but im often left thinking why bother tanning at all if you're not going to tan properly! I like it to be noticeable not barely there. However loving Palmers like i do i thought id pick up Natural Bronze Tan Lotion when i saw it on offer in Boots.

I have to say i am really really impressed. Sometimes when im not planning any nights out in a while, or getting my legs out and generally being abit lazy, I can't be bothered to properly fake tan - yes you heard it hear first, never thought id be saying that - so a gradual tan lotion is perfect for maintaining a slight glow but also only needs minimal effort.
Natural Bronze Glow is a moisturiser that develops into a subtle tan and can be built up over x number of days. Firstly unlike actual fake tan products gradual tanner tends to be white in colour, which makes it seem much more like a regular moisturiser. It also doesn't have your typical fake tan smell. Natural Bronze Glow does have a slight scent to it, certainly more than the regular cocoa butter product but equally its not unpleasant in the slightest. My boyfriend kept telling me i smelt like chocolate if that makes you feel better about the smell? ha! And you can definitely smell the cocoa butter running through it which also leaves a really pleasant smell.
Now I've just been slapping this on willy nilly after my daily showers, not thinking too much about it. I can't remember exactly how long i've been using it now, maybe a fortnight on and off but not once have i had any sort of streak. Each day i notice i am getting browner and browner, subtly and naturally. The colour is long lasting and fades very evenly. I've only needed a little exfoliate around my ankles and elbows.
The top picture is after using Natural Bronze for a couple of days and the bottom picture is after a week. I think you can build up a really nice and natural, but definitely worthwhile, tan with little effort or maintenance. Maybe a winner?

Palmers Natural Bronze Tan Lotion retails at £5.35

Have any of you tried Natural Bronze Tan? I'd love to hear your opinion on it?

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

As those of you who are regulars on the beauty blogger circuit will know there has been some serious hype surrounding this product, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (the foundation in the series also but there will be a review to follow on that!)
Again im not entirely sure what has taken me so long to purchase and try it out? The only thing i can think is that i normally associate powders with being pale, which is not a look i like to go for, and also i think of them making my skin dry & flakey which i definitely don't want.
I recently discovered that Stay Matte Powder comes in shade 001 Transparent which definitely caught my eye and would solve my pale phobias.
I naturally have a slightly oily t-zone and am prone to dry patches on my cheeks so typical awkward combination skin and the thought of staying matte for a good 5+ hours like Rimmel claim is possible would be a dream.

So as soon as i could locate 001 Transparent (which was a difficult task i tell you) i promptly popped one in my basket in Boots, excited to see what all the hype was about.

Now i have only been using this powder for 5 days so far but i am completely in love, entirely won over and it will definitely become one of my makeup bag must haves!
Being transparent in colour i found i could be really generous with the product and it really is the perfect finishing powder. My make-up lasted the entire night last Saturday, a good 5-6 hours without me feeling like anything was sliding off in a good old nightclub environment.

I'm not sure photos will even do this powder justice but here is me out last weekend (pre powder) and this weekend (with powder)...other than lips the rest of my makeup was pretty much the same. The light catching on my cheeks is Benefit High Beam rather than a shiny patch (haha!) but i can definitely see a difference on my forehead and i really felt better and not like i needed to touch up too much throughout the night like i usually do

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder retails for £3.99 in all good drug stores or Rimmel counters. Which i think is a total bargain!

What do you all make of Rimmel Stay Matte Powder? Would you recommend any coloured versions?

And the search for the perfect winter coat begins.....

Hi dolls
This weekend the temperature has seriously dropped which can only mean one thing......
I am on the hunt for the perfect winter coat!! Maybe slightly early i hear you thinking but i have a serious love/hate relationship with coat shopping.
1) When i decide what style i like i can never find the shops have stopped selling them
2) I struggle to even decide on one style to begin with
3) I can just never find "the one"
4) I never seem to find a coat that keeps me truely warm & snug all winter
Sooo that in mind here are my favourites so far, now just to decide and narrow it down to just one (...or maybe 2!)
L-R: Nude Bow Detail Coat - Miss Selfridge £79.00, Red Check Contrast Sleeve Jacket - River Island £65.00,
Khaki Faux Fur Trim Duffle Hooded Parka - New Look £44.00
L-R: Woolen Wraparound Coat - Zara £89.99, Cream Hooded Faux Fur Coat - New Look £39.99
Jenni Shawl Collar Wool Coat - £45
Which coat is your favourite?

Juice to U 3-day detox

For a while now i have been looking into Juice to U's 3-day detox*
They are a company that i have found through twitter and have been super impressed with all the rave reviews and testimonials they are getting from both regular people and celebrities. They offer a range of plans but the basic detox only lasts 3 days and they send all the juices to you already made up!! What's not to love right?
Last week i saw they were looking for bloggers to review their product, very quickly responded to show my interest and was thrilled when they picked me to do a review.
So a little bit about the product: Juice to U is a totally natural and fantastic pre-prepared juice detox service using fresh local produce delivered to your door. The detox consists of 4 juices to drink throughout the day with a 3 hour period between each juice. No other food is allowed, 2 litres of water is recommended and only fruit tea can be consumed (no green tea!). All juices are gluten, wheat and nut free and also suitable for vegetarians.
Juice to U claim that each detox will "leave you feeling fully revitalised, refreshed, rejuvenated and invigorated with smoother skin and your mind clear. Not forgetting the weight loss!"

Feelings of tiredness, nausea and headaches are to be expected when following a detox. This is due to your body getting rid of all the toxins that are in your system.
The lovely people at Juice 2 U made sure my juices were delivered on Tuesday morning as promised (all juices arrive on either Tues or Weds and you begin your detox the next day - very important as everything is fresh and would need to be frozen if you wanted to wait any longer to start). My juices were packed very securely in a cardboard box, complete with ice packs and fresh lemons to be used in hot water to speed up metabolism. The little juices are so so cute, all in their own little individual bottles with ingredients and time that they need to be drunk written on the side of the bottle so the plan really is dummy-proof. Straight away i put them in the fridge excited to start the next day
Each day on the detox is made up of the same 4 juices:
9am: Clean Green (Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Apple & Lime) - contains more nutrients than most people get in a week
To be honest even though i was excited to get started i was definitely dreading Clean Green and assuming would be my least favourite as i have a very sweet tooth. I was is my least favourite but it really isn't awful. Not as bad as i was expecting anyway. You really can taste all 5 ingredients in the juice, which sounds like a bizarre claim but it's true! I would say the cucumber and celery come through strongly but there is definitely a refreshing after taste of lime which is really quite pleasant. The juice isn't blended entirely so there are very very small pieces of fruit and veg to swallow so i can understand that the texture might be off putting for some people but this wasn't an issue for me at all. I like chunky smoothies and soups so the texture of all the juices was similar to this.
Midday: Let's Glow (Orange, Apple, Kiwi, Grapes & Strawberries) - to cleanse the digestive system and radiate your skin
Let's Glow is definitely my favourite out of the three different juices. To me this just tastes like watered down strawberries and you can clearly taste the grapes as well. Really lush, refreshing, sweet fruity and goes down super easy, whereas Clean Green is taking me a bit longer to finish.
3pm: Clean Green (same ingredients as above)
6pm: Berry Good (Pineapple, Blueberries, Strawberries, Apples & Raspberries) - contains anti-oxidants to keep your cardiovascular system in tip top shape
I was definitely expecting this juice to be my favourite, I usually love all things berry and eat all these fruits like they're going out of fashion but surprisingly it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it is really nice tasting, enjoyable to drink and I did really like it - much more than Clean Green! - but for some reason i just prefer the taste flavour of Let's Glow. Berry Good tastes like ever every so slightly over ripe Raspberries, you know when they don't taste at their absolute peak and sweet but they haven't gone off yet, that inbetween period? Well they taste like that. Pretty scrummy any how. Berry Good does definitely seem to be the gas-iest juice and i was upset to see that my Day 3 juice had exploded slightly.....see below for more details on that
Day 1
Thoughts: Excited to get started, anxious about what to expect and what the juices will taste like.
Side effects: Mild headache just before 3pm but this quickly went away after my 3pm juice. I also felt groggy and had a headache for a little while later in the evening. Nothing huge that really bothered me and an early night sorted it out.
Feeling hungry: Surprisingly not at all, i thought i would be missing food more than this.
Enjoying juices: Not mad on Clean Green but it is definitely okay, love Let's Glow and definitely like Berry Good but i was expecting it to be my favourite and it's not.
Noticing changes: I feel more energetic and definitely less bloated. My mind seemed clearer this evening and I was definitely aware of a situation where i may usually have picked a fight with my boyfriend but had the control not to.
Overnight Weight loss: I know you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday bla bla bla...but i'm afraid i can't resist! I weigh in while i'm getting ready for work each morning at around 7:30am......Weight loss from Tuesday 10th September 7:30am to Wednesday 11th September 7:30am is.......-2.4lbs. I'm thrilled that i can be losing weight already!!
Day 2
Thoughts: Thinking about food but i think that's to be expected on any detox. No food at all is hard!!
Side effects: Nothing noticeable today, just tummy grumbles.
Feeling hungry: Yes today was much more difficult than yesterday. Come mid afternoon/early evening i am definitely hungry and watching my boyfriend eat dinner is painful. haha
Enjoying juices: Yes i really am. Clean Green is much more bearable, even slightly more enjoyable than yesterday and i like the taste of all three juices now.
Noticing changes: I still feel full of energy and am noticing my skin is full of life. Normally i would have some dry patches on my cheeks and a slightly oily t-zone but this all seems to have evened out and my skin feels plump and fresh. My concentration has also been much better at work today.

Overnight Weight loss: -3.1lbs
Total Weight loss so far: -5.5lbs
Day 3
Thoughts: I have throughly enjoyed taking part in the detox but am excited to eat a proper meal again tomorrow.
Side effects: Constantly needing to wee but i think that's a given considering all the liquid i am consuming! (should have included this in Days 1 & 2 also!)
Feeling hungry: This morning i woke up hungry but the pangs definitely died down 2 juices into the day. It comes and goes and i find myself hungry just before a juice is due and once i have finished it my belly seems satisfied for a few hours more. It seems 3 hours between juices is the perfect amount
Enjoying juices: Again all juices have been enjoyable today, Clean Green still the least and Let's Glow still my favourite. Stupidly i left my Berry Good juice underneath my desk at work last night, so 6pm came and i had to drink my day 3 juice on day 2 (if that makes sense) but all the Berry Good juices are exactly the same so i was hoping it wouldnt matter too much. However i got to work this morning and day 2's Berry Good had exploded all over its cool bag and ice packs and i've probably lost a third of the juice. Obviously this may all be to do with me leaving it unrefridgerated all night but this does seem to be a common problem with the Berry Good juices, but it didn't happen the first 2 days.
Noticing changes: My clothes are feeling looser today, i still feel less bloated, my skin is clear and glowing, my hair seems shinier and all in all i feel great in myself. Full of beans and energetic....and this is coming from somebody who is notoriously a sleeper and take forever to wake up everyday. These last three days it certainly seems easier.
Overnight Weight loss: -3.2lbs
Total Weight loss: -8.7lbs
My opinion of the Juice 2 U 3-day detox plan really couldn't be any higher. Yes it is difficult to not eat for any significant period of time but your body adapts really quickly and soon realises it is still getting all the goodness and nutrients that it needs through the juices. I did find myself missing food but that is definitely just out of habit as the hunger went away as soon as i got my juice fix.
I feel happier, healthier, have more energy, more confidence and fresh (if that makes sense!). This detox would be perfect repeated a few times a year to rejuvenate and refresh the body.
The weight loss is really an added bonus so again this would be perfect for quickly dropping a few pounds before a holiday and ensuring you would feel great before you went.
So does the 3-day detox do what it claims?
Lose weight? YES
Improve energy levels & feel less slugish? YES
Gain greater vitality, mental clarity & concentration? YES
Improve complexion? YES
Healthy hair & nails? YES
Stronger immune system? Not noticeably but that's not to say it hasn't improved. I wouldn't be getting sick so this is a hard one to measure
Boost your metabolism? Again hard to measure in the long term but i would assume my metabolism has increased from the weight loss
Change of mentality towards nutrition? My feelings haven't changed hugely. I'm pretty clued up on what is good for me and what isn't i'm just very bad at practising what i preach! *easier said than done eh girls?* The detox has opened my eyes to the qualities that certain combinations of fruit and veg have and the particular area of the body that they are working on which is useful.
Will i be recommending the detox and using Juice 2 U's services again? ABSOLUTELY!
You can find out more about Juice to U on their website here
Currently a 3-day, 5-day and Yummy Mummy detox are available.

Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick Trend Edition

Hi dolls, sorry ive been a bit absent this weekend my boyfriend was away on a stag do in Marbella (lucky very brown boy! *not jealous much*) so i have had a mammoth weekend catching up with the girls. Nights in, nights out, lunch, shopping, vegging in front of the telly, name it we have pretty much done it so unfortunately i have neglected you lovely lot a little bit.
One purchase i've been meaning to review for a while but just havent got round to it is the Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick. For those of you who havent heard of Oriflame they are basically the Swedish version of Avon except you cant buy products directly from their website like you can Avon, you have to go through a sales representative so products can be tricky to get hold of if you're not in Sweden. Again you can always find most things on eBay (i really should work for them promoting i rave about eBay so much!!) and i was lucky enough to know a few fellow air hostess' that sold Oriflame so we'd always have a good browse through the catalogue on our tea breaks.
L-R: Coral Trend, Berry Vogue, Catwalk Red, Fashionista Pink,
Explosive Pink
Triple Core Lipstick caught my eye in particular. Oriflame claim it is "the world's first triple core lipstick fusing caring balm, passionate colour and dramatic gloss into one. The result is lips that are softer, more beautiful and more impactful than ever before." So the idea is that the lipstick is made up of 3 separate componants, a inner gloss core, a bright pigmented lipstick middle and an outer tinted balm. Think ombre effect lips...something i was very interested to see and try.
You can now get the Triple Core Lipsticks in the original form, trend edition and 3D
I purchased Coral Trend which is one of the Trend Edition. Not going to lie, mostly because i liked the pretty floral packaging and i was looking for a nice coral shade which unusually the original and 3D ranges didn't seem to offer.
When swatched the lipstick is pretty true to colour and gives good pigmentation. You can definitely see lighter shades through it though and the shimmery gloss in the core of the lipstick is clear.

I couldn't seem to get a good photo of the lipstick on my lips, or at least one that showed the ombre effect true to life. I think it was the flash or something so i left it to the promo shots. But honestly the lipstick really does come out like this! I am so so impressed with it. It did take a couple of layers with blotting in between to get this effect but i definitely got there and to be honest i love it! The coral shade is such a gorgeous summery colour and can be matched with pretty much any outfit.

The pigmentation isn't instantly great but you can definitely build up to the colour you want with a few layers. Overall the lipstick went on really smooth and creamy and lasted a good 4+ hours before i had to touch up which i definitely look for in a lipstick.

The Triple Core Lipstick Trend Edition range retail at £5.95. You can explore the rest of the Oriflame range online here

Have you purchased any Oriflame products before? Would you recommend them?

Yes im officially a WeightWatcher...

To be honest i cant decide whether im embarrassed by this or not but...yes its true....i am officially a weightwatcher!
Image: google images
Ive struggled with my weight for as long as i can remember now. one minute i was a healthy, happy, size 10 and next thing you know i have over 40lbs to lose just to be at the top end of my healthy BMI range - really not ideal!
So grant and i have booked the trip of a lifetime to thailand next april and i am determined to feel happy with my body and confident in a bikini by then. over the years ive tried SO many diets and managed to lose a little weight but i always lose motivation when i dont see results straight away and give up, obviously not getting me anywhere i know but its definitely easier said than done to make changes when youre stuck in a routine
Ive come to the conclusion that i definitely need some flexibility in my diet approach. when i have to cut out all my tasty treats altogether i become un-bear-able, you can ask my boyfriend! so the whole idea of weightwatchers is that you can eat whatever you want, as long as it is in moderation and you stay within your daily "propoint" allowance. every item of food in the world is given a propoint value, you can calculate this yourself using the protein, carb, fat and fibre information of any given food. so in theory i could use nearly all my daily points and eat macdonalds but i then wouldn't have any points left for the rest of the day and would probably be very hungry so i guess im less likely to do it. on the plus side you also receive 49 pro points that are extra weekly points, these can be used for any extra little treats and spread out throughout the week however you like - for example i am going out with the girls on saturday and intend to use my weekly points for a few vodkas
Im hoping to have more luck maintaining my weightloss using such a big recognisable company like weightwatchers. all those millions of people that use them cant be wrong right?
I started the plan on saturday and have my first official weigh in this coming saturday (8th)
wish me luck!
Have you ever followed the weightwatchers plan or something similar? id love to hear any tips or advice from you?

Style Crush - Millie Manderson (neè Mackintosh)

For those of you that aren't familiar with her, Millie Mackintosh features in the TV reality show Made In Chelsea. She has appeared in the show since the beginning, has taken part in 5 series but has now confirmed she will be leaving the show to pursue a more private life with her soon-to-be husband rapper Professor Green (a.k.a. Stephen Manderson)
And i will admit...i totally love her! Her style is always bang on trend but original and quirky at the same time. I have major wardrobe and bank account envy - not gonna lie! haha
Image: The Daily Mail
Here is Millie supporting Pro Green at the opening of his new nightclub Ink in Leicester Square last night. Looking gorgeous as ever! She's wearing a £445 dress by Zimmermann but after being reduced to £133.50 this has sold out everywhere. Major bummer! I'm also loving the orange clutch which finishes off the outfit perfectly - this is £252 from Katja Tamara and can be found on
What do you think of Millie's outfit from last night?
Here are a few of my other favourite Millie looks

GlossyBox - August

For those of you that don't already know this is my second Glossy Box as i'm a new subscriber. I was really impressed with my box in July which you can read about here so couldn't wait to see what August's box would bring...
This months theme was high flyers (which i understand they repeat every year?) meaning that all the products are designed for travel and girls on the go - perfect for when i used to air hostess. The products included are also from all around the world so you get the chance to try brands that you might not have seen/heard of before.
Viva La Juicy Noir
I really loved this perfume tester. While i'd definitely prefer to receive full size makeup items in my box to feel like i've got my moneys worth it is a good way to try new perfumes before you splash out on the entire bottle - but i guess i could just go down to The Pefume Shop and grab some testers like this.
Size: The sample included is only 1.5ml which really isn't a lot, maybe a few days trial at most.
Product:That said the two days where i've worn the perfume so far i'm really impressed with it. Viva La Juicy Noir is a very fruity scent which is 100% right up my street, it includes berry notes and amber which are a delicious combination.
Price: Full size Viva La Juicy is £63 for 100ml, this tester works out at 94p
Would i buy it: Yes actually i would, it is pricey but a lovely perfume
Oceane Make-up remover pen
I've seen products like this in drugstores but for some reason i'm never desperate to get my hands on them, probably because i'm doubtful they work to be honest but this little gem has definitely become my new best friend.
Size: The make-up pen is full size and comes complete with three replacement nibs (a genius touch!)
Product: Granted i've only used it a couple of times but i am over the moon with this pen. I have a habit of getting mascara under my brows (curse of long lashes!) and this pen has never made it easier to remove without any fuss. I've learned not to press too hard or my foundation comes off underneath and i have to start all over again but generally for little touch ups i'm really impressed. Particularly dark make-up black mascaras and eyeliners do stain the nib but i haven't found this to rub off the next time i use the pen like i've seen some people mention? Again maybe due to being very light handed?
Price: Unknown unfortunately, Oceane seem to be a Brazillian company and i haven't had any luck finding out much about them online. Please let me know if you discover anything.
Would i buy it: Yes 100%
Emite Eyelash Curlers
Size: Included in this months Glossy Box was a full size set of Emite eyelash curlers which are apparently Sweden's favourite eyelash curlers! They also came with replacement rubber pads which is always good for extending the life of curlers.
Product: I did like using these but to be honest i don't see any difference with them being pricier than my usual drug store eyelash curlers. As usual i heat the curlers with either a hairdryer or hot water and then press them to each set of lashes quite firmly for a couple of seconds. Noticeably curl straight away but it wasn't a huge difference to my natural lashes.
Price: These retail at £19.83 which in my opinion is a bit too pricey for eyelash curlers (but obviously thrilled to have them in my box!)
Would i buy it: Based on the price...i'm afraid not
Jelly Pong-Pong 2 in 1 eyeliner & eyeshadow
Size: This cute 2 in 1 eyeshadow/liner is full size
Product: Bizarrely this came to me in a red/purple/burgundy colour which i do not believe anybody would wear as eyeshadow? I certainly wouldn't anyway so i'm afraid this product is wasted on me. If i'd received it in plain black or actually any other colour i may have been more excited about it. On my very brief trial run it did apply smoothly with good pigmentation so potentially could be a great product, i'm just so disappointed with the colour.
Price: £10.50
Would i buy it: Probably not for over a tenner but i am intrigued by a more wearable colour
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
Size: This diddy little sample comes in a 30ml bottle which i think is a good size to determine whether you like a skin product
Product: I haven't had a chance to use this yet but i'll be sure to update the post as soon as i have (hopefully tonight!)
Price: This retails at £28.50 for 480ml which i think is quite a lot...i will have to love it to justify spending that much on a cleanser. This makes my sample worth £1.78
Will i buy it: be decided
Overall i do like last months Glossy Box but i'm not sure i LOVE it. I could probably take or leave most of the products, the only one i am super impressed with is the make-up remover pen, and that's probably because i am super clumsy and forever making errors!
TOTAL BOX WORTH: £33.05 (before the make-up remover pen)
What did you think of the August Glossy Box? Will you be purchasing any of the products ive mentioned?

Bath & Bodyworks Anti-bacterial hand gel in Cookie Dough

Hi dolls, did you all have a nice weekend?
my boyfriend and I went down to the beach for the day and had a lovely quiet lunch by Eastbourne Harbour - it would be rude not to in this weather right? then being big football fans as you know we watching the Liverpool vs. Man Utd game on sunday (thats enough about that! :s) and went to some friends for a lush roast dinner in the evening.
what did you get up to?
Whilst packing my beach bag i came across a Bath & Bodyworks hand gel which i havent seen for yonks! you know how you change handbags and forget to transfer everything over? well this has definitely been one of those items
For those of you who havent heard of Bath & Bodyworks they are a huge company in the US that sell - yes you guessed it - mainly items for your Body & Bath. Think Body Shop but with gorgeous candles instead of make up. Everytime i have been to the states i cant help but stock up on their products, they just smell too amazing not to! Unfortunately they don't ship to the UK at the moment so it can be tricky to get hold of their products over here but i dont usually have any trouble finding them on eBay when i run out :)
This anti-bacterial hand gel is I Love Cookie Dough flavour, which may be a little sickly sweet for some people but i absolutely love it. The initial scent after application is a little overpowering for me but leave it a few seconds and your hand truely smell of gorgeous, doughy, just out the oven cookies! Yum!
If you ever get the chance to pop in one of the Bath & Bodyworks stores whilst over in America I can highly highly recommend it - especially the huge 3-wick candles that burn forever! (Marshemellow fireside is my favourite)
Have you been to Bath & Bodyworks? I'd love to hear what you're favourite products are?
