Sleep In Rollers Original gift set

So unless you've been living under a rock i assume you will know about Sleep In Rollers by now.
They are a brand of hair rollers with a foam core so that the design enables you to get a great nights sleep whilst the rollers work their magic and you wake up with big bouncy hair.
Image: Sleep In Rollers
Sleep rollers have been around for a couple of years now and are pretty much seen on every celeb ever? When they first started you could only get the bog standard one size, pink rollers but now they have expanded SO much and there is possibly a type of roller or hair accessory for absolutely everybody. Mega rollers, regular rollers, short hair rollers, pink, black, white (coming soon), Amy Childs purple, leopard, blonde, brunette, fringe rollers, big buns, extensions, dryer hoods and loads loads more. You name it Sleep in Rollers probably make it.

I am completely besotted with my Sleep In Rollers and use them all the time. I've probably had them for 18months or so and they have definitely become my staple product when i want big, bouncy curls for a night out (or just a glam day!).
Sleep In Rollers recommend you place the rollers in dry already blown hair. They can also be used on slightly damp hair for a curlier effect so it depends what look you are after really. I've found if i put the rollers in with damp hair i sometimes get a bit of a kink but thats probably down to me not rolling tight enough as well.
The morning results the first time i ever used my
The outside of the rollers are velcro so stick to the hair pretty well anyway but can be secured with kirby grips or clamps if you need them. The rollers do stick to my hair on their own but i have thick heavy hair and tend to wriggle about abit in the night so i do fasten each roller with one kirby grip. Once all my rollers are in place i drown (and i mean drown) my head in hairspray. This isn't something Sleep In Rollers advise you need to do but i feel happier with the results when i do it.
To be completely honest i wouldn't say Sleep In Rollers give me a totally undisturbed sleep, they are irritating and i am definitely aware of them in my hair/back of my head. I've found that once i get comfy in a position they are fine and i forget about the for a while but inevitably at some point throughout the night i roll or move and then i can feel them again. Saying that they are still 1000x comfier than any other hair rollers i have ever tried, the foam definitely does help.
The results in my opinion are really really great. I'm always left with super bouncy hair, with a lovely curl towards the ends which holds all day or night long with no need for any extra products. Even before i discovered i could drown my head in hairspray while the rollers set the longevity of the results has always been awsome. I literally find my hair keeps the style until i next wash it - PERFECT!
Rollers In!!

Rocking my rollers on a girls weekend to Liverpool :)

Sleep In Rollers can be found in salons all across the country now, bought online on, in Boots stores or online at Forever Unique. The basic set retails at £24.95

Have you tried Sleep In Rollers? Do you love the results as much as me?

Glossy Box - July 2013 update

You might have seen my post a few weeks ago on my July Glossybox but now i've properly had a chance to try out all the products i thought i'd give you a little update.
Ciate Paint Pot in Access All Areas
Ciate have been a brand of nail varnish I have wanted to try for ages, especially since the intruction of the Caviar manicure, still looks totally amazing, but the price usually puts me off. This was a full size polish which would usually retail at £9 so i think its an amazing product to be included in the Glossy Box, this months box has practically paid for itself already with just one item!
I love the bottle design and think the little black bows are so so cute, definitely what attracts me to begin with.
Access All Areas is a dark coral/red and i do love the shade. I think a few different colour options were packed in the Glossy boxes this month but i'm glad i received this one as its different to anything i already have. However i dont particularly like the finish of the polish, its a little too shiny for my liking..which i know is a weird thing to complain about but it just looks wet rather than healthy gloss shine if that makes sense and i found the polish didnt last long on my nails at all it has only been on my nails for a day or two and is already chipped to shreds.
Would i buy another Ciate Paint Pot based on this? Probably not
Am i still desperate to get my hands on the Caviar manicure series? Absolutely. Everyone deserves a second chance right?
Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
This tousled texture mist is quite a hit in my book. I don't very often go for the "tousled" effect as my hair is very thick and curly so sprays like this usually give me extra volume which i don't need but this mist did not do that. I did have to use quite a lot of product, considering the sample is pretty small but eventually got the look i was after. I prefer to spray onto damp hair rather than dry but you can do either and the product wasn't overly sticky and i didn't feel like i had lots of product build up in my hair at the end of the day - hate that feeling.
Would i buy this product? For £23 probably not, it would be a bit of a splurge but i would definitely recommend it if you can afford it
Anatomicals Spray Misty for Me facial spritz
I definitely love this product. Spray Misty for Me is a facial spray designed to refresh, rehydrate and calm skin. A plus is that it can be used on Normal, Dry or Sensitive skin so is pretty much perfect for everyone. The sample included in this months box is a really good size and i expect it's going to last for ages.
This has been popped in my handbag and i've found myself reaching for it quite a lot, especially with all the hot weather we've had recently - its a perfect refresher. The spray smells faintly of lavender (a smell that i'm not usually a fan of) and peppermint but it really isn't overpowering at all, think barely there. I've also found this product really good at helping to set my makeup.
Would i buy this product? For £6 definitely
Sleek Pout Paint in Pin Up and Cloud 9
Straight away i was excited to see Sleek in my box as they are not a brand that i'm hugely familiar with so i was looking forward to trying out not one but two lovely pout paints. I received Pin Up which is a deep bright red (the name is very appropriate) and Cloud 9 which was an unusual colour for a lip product - white!
Pout paints are designed to be used mixed with each other (or other lip products) to create new shades, hence the don't need to go around with Snow Queen lips don't worry!
In the tube Pin Up looks incredibly pigmented and i was expecting great things to be honest but when it actually came to application i was disappointed as it was thinner than i expected and more glossy rather than matte lipstick like i was expecting. When applied over a lipstick i love it. The texture is really soft and silky and feels lovely on the lips. As for the white i haven't experimented hugely yet but was able to make some new shades of pink by mixing a blob with various MAC lippies.
Would i buy this product? Maybe not the coloured versions but i like the idea of the white and blue for mixing with other shades. You can purchase Sleek Pout Paints on their website here for approx. $6 so around £4.99 i believe.
Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tint
I have very fair skin being a red head so SPF is always inportant to me in a product. However i would rather keep my sun care and skin care separate where at all possible as i feel each product does a better job individually rather than when they are combined.
On application the tint went onto my skin smoothly with no greasy residue like you get from some sun care products. The smell of rose was very faint which is a good thing in my opinion, nobody likes to put an overbearing scent on their face, and the tinted moisturiser aspect was pretty non-existant like i usually find with tinted moisturisers. I'm afraid i just don't get on with them, i get the idea that your skin can breath etc but they just dont have anywhere near enough coverage for my liking. I'm very much an all or nothing girl, in my opinion there's no point bothering with barely there products and im afraid this was one of them.
Would i purchase this product? No i'm afraid not. It retails at £29.99 for 50ml making my sample worth £4.19

TOTAL BOX WORTH: £29.17 (minus the texture mist)
All in all i have been so happy with my first Glossy Box. I'm definitely looking forward to reviewing lots more products in the future!

Love my Claireabella....

While this may not be a new purchase as such i simply have to share with you my love for my Claireabella Jute Bag.
For those of you that haven't heard of Claireabella (or have perhaps been living under a rock?) a lovely lady called Claire based in Liverpool has come up with the idea of creating personalised a-Bella characters and hand painting them onto canvas bags. As far as I know Claireabella were the first in the market to do this even though there are tonnes of variations now but I think Claireabella are still my favourites.
You can read all about the Claireabella story here
As demand for Claireabella's increased Claire sought the help of a company called Toxic Fox to help with mass production and demand and Claireabella's are now bought through their website and all sorts of Claireabella items can now be designed, from hoodys, wall art, phone cases, mugs and many many more.
Once on the website you can pick what colour hair, style of hair, colour eyes, skin tone and outfit your Claireabella has plus include your name or any text you would like. Personally my favourite touch is their eyelashes *amazing*
This picture is quite old because very very sadly my Claireabella got a little injured when I wrote my car off last Xmas and her ribbon and pink mesh flower have come off *boo* so she is a little more battered now but I still love her alot and use her all the time! I've got the medium size jute which when i bought mine was the smallest size but you can now get a Polo Jute which is even cuter & dinkier! I've found the medium size more than sufficient for everyday use, its a similar size to any handbags i already use and has plenty of room for all my essentials. The handles are a good size, fit perfectly in my elbow crease and could probably just about fit over my shoulder on a skinny day! ha!

I think Claireabella jutes are perfect for everyday use and always get heads turning. They are often spotted on the arms of all kinds of celebrities and make the perfect present!
I can't wait to order a large Bikini Claireabella for my holiday to Thailand next year.
Claireabella Jute bags start at £24.99
Do you own a Claireabella? What look did you go for?

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

This morning on my usual "i'm too early for work, lets have a mooch around Boots" run i picked up Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch which is a new lip balm Maybelline have recently introduced to the UK.
I've heard a lot of good things about this product and from what i can tell it has been a big hit in the States forever now so thankfully they have finally brought it out over here.

The lip balm is designed to give intense care, 8 hour hydration and it also contains SPF 20 so would be perfect to slip in your hand luggage for holidays.

Pink Punch is a gorgeous pale pink, ever so slightly shimmery shade. It looks incredibly bright and if i'm honest a little intimidating in the packaging, but as its a balm rather than a lipstick it doesn't come out with half as much pigmentation on the lips.

I really really like this lip balm, it feels ever so soft on my lips - almost velvety which is lush and truely keeps my lips hydrated for ages. I'm not sure i can feel hydrating benefits for 8hrs solid but it definitely lasts ages on the lips. It is super lightweight on your lips which i think is definitely a good thing especially in this heat we've been having! My favourite thing about this lip balm is the smell *oh my goodness* it is simply devine. The scent of Pink Punch is hard to pinpoint but it is generally exactly how you would expect a gorgeous fruity punch to smell, think berries. Yum!

Baby Lips Lip Balm is available in six shade and smells which i'm sure will all be amazing:
Hydrate, Intense Care, Mint Fresh, Cherry Me, Pink Punch & Peach Kiss

At £2.99 i think this is an absolutely steal and can't wait to start collecting the others in the collection.
Baby Lips Lip Balm is available at all Maybelline counters nationwide.

Have you tried any of the Baby Lips range? What is your favourite?

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

A little while ago you might have seen my post about the Bourjois nail polish's i bought in the 2 for 1 offer...well the other delightful little product i picked up was this Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder.
I've had my eye on this little beat for a while and have heard nothing but good things.
Bourjois claim the powder contains little flecks of gold and smells of chocolate - which has got to be a good thing right?
Anyone who has read my previous posts know i love to be bronzed and tanned within an inch of my life so bronzer is a pretty important part of my makeup collection and im forever on the search for new ones to try. Usually i like a bronzer that contains a lot of shimmer so was worried this would be a little too matte for my liking but i actually like how it shows up on my skin. I think the little flecks of glitter do make a difference. The bronzer appears very matte and has a great consistency and then when in sunlight the glitter shows up slightly which i love.

I wouldn't say the powder smells like chocolate as such but it does have a lovely sweet coconutty scent which is always a winner with me. I adore the packaging as well, i think being in a cute little book design really helps prevent the bronzing from smashing easily because lets be honest who needs that in the bottom of your handbag?

Overall i think i will use this bronzer more for contouring and use something more sparkly, like my GOSH Shimmer brick bronze, for all over but i really do love it and would definitely recommend.
Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder can be found at any Bourjois makeup stand for £6.99 but Bourjois products are often on 3for2.

What are you favourite bronzers? Do you prefer a matte or shimmery finish?

Last weekend my boyfriend and I went up to Manchester for the weekend

Being huge Manchester United fans and driving the 298miles (to be precise) quite often for football i can definitely say Manchester is one of my favourite cities. I love everything about it! Everybody is friendly, i love their accents, everything is cheaper, shopping is amazing, The Trafford Centre - enough said, there are so many different styles going on up there and everybody loves to go all out dressed up for a night out (definitely in Liverpool just down the road another fav of mine!)

One day we WILL live here

1) Saturday lunch at Rosso (Rio Ferdinand's restaurant) one of my favourite places to eat ever! (plus always good for a celeb spot)
2) Welcome to Manchester!!! if you've never been you really should go
3) Old Trafford - The Theatre of Dreams, possibly my favourite place in the world
4) The elaborate food court at the Trafford Centre designed like a ship
5) My lush King Prawn Linguine in Rosso - yum yum
We mainly went to Manchester this time to go to Rio Ferdinand's testimonial match which was Man Utd vs Sevilla. The match wasn't great to be honest and United didn't play particularly well but still it felt good to be up there and getting excited for the football season to start again. Feels like home!
Of course we couldn't resist a bit of shopping even though we didn't have a lot of money to spend just before payday, we still managed to hit Market Street and the Trafford Centre. We managed to get these cute little Minnie Mouse oven gloves for our flat and some memory foam pillows that I've been meaning to get for a while which are amazing! I would highly highly recommend, i have never slept so well
What do you think of Manchester?

Models Own Bubblegum nail polish

On my shopping trip to Westfield Stratford City last week (which you can read about here) i was very excited to get my hands on the Models Own neon collection.
I must admit...i went there 100% set on purchasing Pink Punch, which is a gorgeous neon coral/pink but as it turns out i surprised myself and actually preferred Bubblegum once i got there. Bubblegum is your typical bright neon pink - think highlighter pen but a darker shade - and i love it!

Once i got home i literally couldnt wait to get this on my fingers, i did debate painting on the train home but decided against it knowing how clumsy and messy i am anyway, i dont need added obstacles!
I really love how this colour looks on my nails, it really is so bright and eye catching. I literally can't stop looking at it and its always catching my eye as i'm typing away at work.
The polish applies really well and one coat would really be enough as its a lovely opaque texture. I did however apply my usual two coats and a top coat which i think give it that added shine.
Bubblegum definitely lasted a few days chip and scuff free on my nails which is a big bonus for me.
My only regret is not buying this bad boy sooner, it would have be perfect for Wireless last month or any festivals for that matter. V this weekend if any of you are going?

Bubblegum retails at £5 and can be found at any Models Own makeup stand, the Bottle Shop at Westfield Stratford City, Westfield White City & Bluewater and online here
Do you own any of the Models Own neon collection?

DVA Beautique Natural Eyelash Extensions

As i already mentioned here last month i found a great deal on Groupon for eyelash extensions with DVA Beautique at Westfield Stratford and tuesday was the day i'd finally managed to get an evening appoinment and was booked in for.
I had never heard of DVA Beautique before i booked but after doing a little research i discovered they are one of those pop up stalls in the middle of the shopping mall where you can get your eyebrows threaded, lash extensions, lash tinting and semi permanemt makeup. They have a branch in the Westfield Stratford shopping centre and one at Westfield City (Shepherds Bush).
The Westfield Stratford branch that i went to is located on the first floor by La Senza and H&M. The stand was busy which i always think is a good thing and a nice lady seated me and gave me a new customer questionnaire to fill it - questions re any allergies and such.
Now i bought the deal which gave me their Natural eyelashes which are normally £55, i paid £19 so was considering it as quite a bargain.
As it turns out natural lashes are much more natural than i imagined. There are no photos of natural lashes on their website, only the standard full set which was a bit misleading and to be honest i am one of the girls that likes big lashes, the bigger the better so i was already assuming anything that used the word natural wouldn't be to my taste.
The lash extensions took around 15mins to apply, as advertised and i would say an extension is applied to every 3rd or 4th lash, rather than every single one like you would get with a full set of eyelashes. I do however still like the overall outcome and for a natural everyday look these lashes are perfect. I would say my eyes now look like i already have a couple of layers of mascara on and a little bit longer - when i actually can have no eye makeup on at all. I'm finding this really handy day-to-day and to be honest i can get away with being abit lazy and not having to do my eye makeup on the train every morning like i have been doing previously.
The lashes have been on for a couple of days and are still going strong, i don't think i've lost a single one yet but i will keep you posted on that. They are supposed to last up to 2 weeks so we shall see. In comparison to other semi-permanent lash glue i have previously used i am hopeful though. These do seem very stuck.
With lash extensions on the left - before lash extensions with no makeup on the right

If i was going out for the night i would apply more lashes and makeup but as i said i do like the over the top fake look.
Ultimately do i like these eyelash extensions? YES. Were they worth £19? Most definitely.
Would I recommend DVA Beautique? Absolutely. Check them out for yourself here
Have you tried eyelash extensions? Any hints or tips for me?

Watch this space!

Westfield Stratford City

On Tuesday night I travelled over to Westfield Stratford shopping centre. For those of you that haven't been to Westfield Stratford you really really should! In my opinion it is simply the best shopping centre ever, they have every shop and restaurant you can think of. My eyelash appointment wasn't until 7:15pm so i had a little time to wander round the shops and get myself some dinner.
The first Celeb Boutique store opened here only last week and they are always adding to the list of shops.
Image: Models Own
I was very excited to visit the Models Own bottle shop which I hadn't been to before
It is a super cute little shop in the middle of the mall in the shape of a nail varnish bottle selling all things Models Own. They had such a huge range of stock, I've never seen so many shades all together. I loved it! I was set on getting my hands on their neon polish Pink Punch (blog to follow) so very excited to see they had rows and rows of the neon colours as they are the new shades being promoted at the moment along with their splash collection.

If you haven't been to the Models Own Bottle Shop yet you I highly recommend it.
You can see all the neon polishes displayed in the front window
I also has a little wander into the Kiko makeup store which I love for two reasons:
1) you can find real bargains and quite often all lippies and nail polishes are £2.50
2) i don't get to go there very often
This time they were advertising their new Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer which leaves the nails with a mat sand effective and innovative touch. I didn't buy any this time as I was in a bit of a rush by this point but had time for a quick tester that I thought i'd share with you and to be honest i'm not sure about it.
Please excuse the lighting (London underground what more can I say!) and messiness, it was just the overall effect i wanted to show you. I chose shade 634 Lilac which was one of the matte options and i have to say im not loving it. The matte effect is quite nice but i don't like the sand effect. maybe it's just me but i just feel like i messed my nails up before they had time to dry and the bumpy texture catches on everything something else that grates on me. There are other colours that were two/tone and shimmery such as 639 Golden Mandarin and 646 Starry Black which may be better. Check them out for yourself online here
Have you tried any Kiko Makeup Milano products or any sugar effect nail polish?

Batiste Dry Shampoo Wild

Just a quick post on another one of my handbag must haves Batiste Dry Shampoo Wild

I've always used dry shampoo inbetween washes to refresh my hair (it is an absolute god-send if you ask me!) even though i am very lucky and because i have very thick hair it doesn't get greasy easily - Batiste are easily the best brand i have used.
All their Dry Shampoos smell absolutely amazing, really fresh and almost tropical not a chemical smell like you get with hair spray at all.
Now ill admit it, i was mostly drawn to trying Wild because of the leopard print can (yes i'm a sucker for anything leopard print) and im so glad i did because i've really noticed this dry shampoo gives more volume than others in the batiste range - again not something i'm really short of but i know many of you love the va-va-voom so to speak

You spray the shampoo onto your roots, from a fair distance - too close and you'll be left with some grey residue - and then gently massage it in with your fingers. Voila! Hair left feeling fresh, revived and with added volume! A definite winner in my eyes.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Wild is exclusive to Boots and is on offer for £1.99 at the moment so stock up ladies

Have any of you tried the Batiste Range?

Bourjois So Laque Glossy & 1 Seconde Nail Polish

At the moment both Boots & Superdrug have a 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois products which obviously i snapped up. Bourjois are definitely one of my favourite high street brands, i love their packaging and am always attracted to anything they bring out and i think they often offer the best shade selections, especially in nail varnish
Plus at the moment in Boots when you buy 3 Bourjois products in the 3 for 2 range you get a free pair of sunglasses and lets be honest, any freebie is always a winner right?

I went for So Laque Glossy Nail Polish in Rose Lounge, 1 Seconde Nail Polish (which i have read so many reviews on and couldn't wait to try) in Rose Cupcake and Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (blog to follow)

I've been buying a lot of bold statement summer colours recently so thought i'd go for some softer pinks as i am very girly at heart

So Laque Glossy claims to contain twice as much vinyl and a blend of highly reflecting resins for nails with incredible shine and fixing agents that will coat nails with a highly resistant film that holds for up to seven days. Now i have to say on first impressions i hugely agree with both of these statements, this nail polish really is very shiny, my nails definitely keep catching my attention when they catch in the sunlight. And even though Rose Lounge has only been on my nails for 2 days it doesn't seem like it will chip easily (i will have to report back after a week or so) but i'm still going strong at the moment and i really am very clumsy and chip my nails quickly normally.

Rose Lounge is a gorgeous nude/pale pink colour that i wouldn't normally go for, but i absolute love it. I like to have an opaque colour on my nails so i did apply a fair few coats (4 to be precise) but i really like how it has turned out. It looks so pretty and girly and will definitely be a favourite in my collection, perfect for Autumn weddings that i have coming up!

Now onto 1 Seconde Nail Polish, i have heard great great things and read so many blog posts on this nail varnish i was expecting great things!...and to be honest it did live up to my expectations. 1 Seconde Polish is a 1 coat gel formula enriched with silicon for a curve and shiny result. While the polish didn't dry in 1 second, it did dry really quickly and i think to be honest Bourjois are trying to say you can paint your nails to a salon standard quickly and easily with this polish.
This is mostly down to the new fan-effect brush which really is a revelation for nail polish application! It is simply the best brush i have ever used, you really can paint your nails so easily and quickly in just a couple of strokes - even just one stroke on the smaller nails. I'm hoping all companies will soon start using these brushes for nail varnish and it really is amazing.

The only negative i have is that my thumb nail did chip very quickly but as i said i am very clumsy.

Rose cupcake is a lush mid-pink colour, very girly and feminine. The silicone in the polish really does show and my nails looked very very shiny.
Both polish's retail at £5.99 and can be found in Boots, Superdrug or at any Bourjois counter - although i have found most stores don't show just how many colours are available.

Overall i am thrilled with both of these additions to my nail polish collection. Have you tried either of these or any other colours in the range? Will you be taking advantage of the 3 for 2 Bourjois offer?
